HTC announces Sensation XE with Beats Audio and 1.5GHz dual core processor

Not much more than a month after inking a $300 million partnership with Beats by Dr. Dre, HTC has today announced the HTC Sensation XE, their first device that integrates the “Beats Audio experience”.

The Sensation XE packs in Beats audio technology, a combination of software and hardware, that apparently delivers “studio quality audio” when used with the included Beats in-ear headphones. Using the headphones will run all audio through the “bespoke Beats by Dr. Dre sound profile” delivering crisper vocals and fuller bass for a “level of clarity and range offering audio the way the artist intended it to be heard”.

From the press release:

“Audio is a crucial part of any consumer’s mobile experience and we are continually pushing the audio boundaries to encompass not only improved voice but music, movies and games,” said Jason Mackenzie, president of global sales and marketing, HTC Corporation. “The HTC Sensation XE offers a truly incredible experience that demonstrates our commitment to place consumers at the center of their mobile worlds.”

Apart from audio the XE sports some pretty decent specs including a 1.5GHz dual core processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, front-facing VGA camera, 8-megapixel main camera, and a 1,730mAh battery. While it only offers about 1 GB of internal storage, it ships with either an 8 or 16GB microSD.

The HTC Sensation XE is expected to hit the European market sometime by the end of the month, no word on pricing or when it might be coming stateside, however. Full press below, if you’re interested.
