Microsoft forgets about Apple, turns ad attention against Samsung’s Galaxy Tab

Oh Microsoft, when will you ever learn? The latest in the company’s Surface line of “attack” ads forgets about Apple and turns its attention onto Samsung’s Galaxy Tab. The ad highlights  video output, a full size USB port and the ability to charge “while getting stuff done” on the Surface.  Then it turns its attention on the Galaxy Tab’s lone microUSB port which must be used both for hooking up to a monitor, transferring documents and for charging. Ooooo slick burn Microsoft!

All I have to say about this is…”le sigh.” Someone let me know when Microsoft figures out that attacking the competition isn’t increasing sales of the Surface. It’s time Microsoft takes a page from the Google, Apple marketing handbook and looks to tug at the heart with reasons why the Surface can help keep me connected to family, teach me how to talk in front of a classroom, find long lost relatives or pick up a girl. Frankly, these ads serve no other purpose than to remind me all the reasons why I don’t care about the Surface. That in and of itself is reason alone for Microsoft to rethink its entire marketing strategy.
