Amazon has never been a company to provide specific sales numbers, but their just-issued press release shows us that Android, Kindle and Chromebooks dominated their holiday shopping season. Surprisingly, or perhaps not surprising at all is the Chromecast, which is the best seller in the Computers and Accessories category outselling the company’s own Kindle Fire lineup as well as Apple TV and the Roku 3 Streaming Media player.

Amazon indicated that on Cyber Monday they sold 426 items per second allowing for millions of customers to unwrap, Kindle Fire tablets, Chromebooks and items like the Chromecast on Christmas morning. The notion that the Chromecast is the best-selling item in the Computer and Accessory category is both shocking and exciting as it outsold dozens of items that at first glance we might consider as far-more popular items.

In the tablet category, Amazon’s best sellers include the Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire HDX 7″ and the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″. In the laptop category it’s Chromebooks galore as the Samsung Chromebook and the Acer Chromebook took the first and third positions respectively.

It’s clear that when it comes to the worlds largest online retailer, Android-based Kindle Fire tablets, Chromebooks and the Chromecast dominate the sales game. Chalk that up as a major win for Google and its partners.
