AllCast updated with new tablet interface, auto-pause functionality, more

The streaming media app AllCast received a hefty update this morning with some much needed features. Koush, the developer and creator of the app, updated AllCast to version 1.1.1.6 on the Play Store. New with the update is a new tablet interface. The tablet design has a split view that allows you to browse your media selection on one side of the interface and control playback on the other side.

There’s also a new photo slideshow mode in AllCast, in addition to the ability to swipe on full screen mode for photos. Finally, the update also adds the ability to have your content auto-pause when you receive a call.

  • There’s a new split view tablet UX. Can browse/control media playback on one screen when in landscape mode.
  • Photos are way easier to cast now with a new swipey UI. And slideshow mode was added to boot.
  • Ever get interrupted during a cast when the pizza guy calls? The cast will now pause automatically! (thanks bekit)

For those unfamiliar, AllCast is an app that allows you to beam content from your phone or tablet to a streaming media device, such as the Chromecast, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire TV. There are both a free version and a premium version on the Play Store.
