Google Glass XE 19.1 released, packs a visual redesign and improved connectivity

Google has seemingly skipped right over XE 19, tonight pushing the XE 19.1 update to Google Glass users. The latest version of the Glass software features a redesigned voice menu as well as much more reliable connectivity. For moving up an entire version number, this actually looks to be a relatively minor update.

Glass has been plagued with occasional connectivity issues when giving it commands, but Google hope that these woes are no longer (or at least improved) in XE 19.1. The update “provides even more reliable connectivity,” and should do a better job of handling network problems when giving one of these commands.

Additionally, as you can see in the screenshot below, XE 19.1 comes with a slightly redesigned voice menu that Google is calling “sleeker” and “cleaner.”

For those of you lucky enough to have your hands on Glass, keep your eye on your device over the next few hours and days to grab the latest version. For the full change log, head over to the Google support website.
