Today Verizon announced that 10.1-inch version of Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab 4 is now available through its online store. Starting today it’s online for $359.99 on contract or $459. The tablet will arrive in stores in the weeks and join the 8-inch variant that’s already available for $279 on contract or $379. Verizon notes that its Edge program is also available for the tablets, as is the ability to add the tablet to their existing MORE Everything accounts for an additional $10 monthly access fee.

Samsung first launched its Galaxy Tab 4 series of tablets back in May with WiFi only models and later announced LTE capable variants that have so far arrived on T-Mobile and AT&T. Verizon’s prices line up with prices announced previously by both AT&T and T-Mobile, but those carriers are yet to launch the 10-inch model.

The new tablet packs in a 1.2 GHz Quad-core processor, Android 4.4 KitKat, 1.5GB RAM, a 4450 mAh battery, 16GB of onboard storage and a 1280×800 WXGA display.

UPDATE: The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 will be available online starting July 24 for $459.99, and for a limited time, the tablet will be available for $359.99 with a new two-year activation. The tablet will be available in Verizon Wireless stores in the coming weeks. The Verizon Edge program is also available for eligible customers.

The family tablet. Give it to someone for 5 minutes and all of the sudden the wallpaper is changed, apps are downloaded and rearranged, and there’s also now a password. And that’s just after one person’s had it; wait until everyone has had their turn.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab® 4 8.0 solves this problem with its Multi-User Mode. It allows different users to have individual profiles to log on to the tablet, which offers each person the ability to choose their own wallpaper, apps, password and more. The social media teen in the house can log in and have Twitter and Facebook widgets on their homescreen, and the chef in the family can have their recipe shortcuts and cooking apps on their homescreen. Each person in the family can enjoy his or her own personalized tablet experience.

A family tablet also calls for family entertainment. The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 can act as a TV guide and remote control with the WatchON app. Families can find their favorite shows, bookmark them, and set alerts so they never miss an episode. And the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 isXLTE Ready, which means families can take advantage of faster peak speeds and greater network capacity in cities coast to coast, whether for posting family photos online or watching a funny viral video together.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8-inch will be available online and in Verizon Wireless stores starting June 26 for $379.99, and for a limited time, the tablet will be available for $279.99 with a new two-year activation. Users will be able to add the tablet to their existing MORE Everything accounts for an additional $10 monthly access fee.
