Android 5.1.1 factory image for the Nexus 6 now available, here’s how to install it (T-Mobile-only for now)

Google has just posted the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop factory image for the T-Mobile variant of the Nexus 6 (shamu), and you can download it now from the factory image download page. Over-the-air 5.1.1 updates for some variants of the Nexus 6 have been beginning to roll out over the last several days, and now it looks like Google has started sharing these images publicly…

The factory image is only for the T-Mobile variant of the phone at the moment, but Google is likely going to be pushing the rest out very soon. Specifically, this download is build LYZ28E, while other variants of the firmware end with “D” and “I”. You can head over to our trusty guide if you’re looking to install 5.1.1 on your Nexus 6 and haven’t yet received the OTA update.

We’ll keep this post updated as the other factory images start hitting the download page.

Update: Here’s the OTA link for 5.1.1 on the Sprint Nexus 6 plus the full factory image as well.
