Android One has arrived in Pakistan at long last, and does so with the launch of the QMobile A1 smartphone. In a blog post this morning, Google announced that consumers will be able to snag one of these new handsets for just 11,500 PKR (around $110 USD) starting today.

QMobile’s smartphone comes loaded with Android 5.1.1 and is powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz processor with 1GB RAM and a 1,700mAh battery. Other features include a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera and dual SIM support. It also comes equipped with 8GB of built-in storage and the ability to expand up to an additional 32GB via MicroSD card.

As with all Android One certified phones, the software experience is stock and Google can push software updates as soon as they’re ready. Much like the Nexus line, the software maker has much more power over update releases and features. It helps avoid those instances where low-end devices stutter under the weight of too much manufacturer and carrier bloatware.
