LG has announced a brand new tablet ready to compete at the 10-inch screen size category, and by all accounts, it looks to be a decent piece of hardware. The LG G Pad II 10.1 is going to make a full appearance at IFA in a couple of weeks. Pricing and availability details won’t be announced until then, but in the mean time, LG has given us the lowdown on all the tablet’s internal specifications.

LG’s upcoming tablet will pack an impressive 1920 x 1200 resolution 10.1-inch display on the front, giving it a pixel density of 224ppi. To keep it running smoothly, there’s a quad-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 2.26GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. It’ll run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, and ships with 16GB of internal storage which you can expand via MicroSD. It has a 5MP camera on the back, 2MP on the front and will be available in both Wi-Fi only and LTE models.

Perhaps the most important specification of all is the battery size. LG has opted for a huge 7,400mAh capacity cell, which should easily be enough to keep that screen powered all day. To give that some kind of perspective, Samsung’s latest tablet, the Tab S2 9.7 has a much higher resolution screen (2048 x 1536) and has a battery capacity of just 5,870mAh. LG’s has approximately 842,000 fewer pixels to power and has 1,530mAh more capacity. Needless to say, it’s the largest battery in its class and still fits inside a tablet that’s only 7.8mm thin. LG is also going to offer customers 100GB of OneDrive storage free to use for two years, alongside the preloaded Microsoft Office apps.

“The LG G Pad II 10.1 was developed in response to consumers’ feedback and optimized for multimedia consumption.” said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company. “Customers asked for a large display, bigger battery and faster performance all without raising the price. The G Pad II delivers on all counts.”

The G Pad II 10.1 will be available in key markets in North America, Europe and Asia following its official unveiling at IFA in Berlin next month.
