Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for Galaxy Note 5 begins its rollout

With Samsung having pushed the Marshmallow update to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge recently, it was never going to be long before the new software landed on the Note 5. Today, SamMobile reports that some Galaxy Note 5 users internationally have started seeing Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow become available to download and install.

One of the site’s readers from Cambodia got in touch with a slew of images showing off the latest software update running on their Note 5 unit. As visual overhauls go, I think Samsung’s TouchWiz revamp with Marshmallow is easily one of the most drastic. Along with the visual changes we’ve already seen, Android 6.0.1 brings the other Marshmallow features like Google Now on Tap, Doze mode and app standby, as well as the enhanced Samsung browser and multitasking capabilities detailed this week.

There’s no specific word on when the update will hit US models, except to say that some AT&T beta testers have already managed to get their hands on it. In addition to that, a previous schedule leak suggest we will see it roll out very soon, within the next couple of months. Today’s revelation from Cambodia indicates that Samsung has begun its international rollout, meaning the US can’t be too far behind.
