360° videos on YouTube are now available for PlayStation VR

YouTube is one of the first stops for most VR users, mainly because it’s one of the few apps supported on nearly every VR platform. However, PlayStation’s first step into VR didn’t include YouTube, until now.

Today, Sony and YouTube have announced an update to the YouTube app for PlayStation which enables 360° experiences on the service through the PlayStation VR headset.

This is a big move for the platform, as YouTube’s collection of 360° videos is already massive, and growing daily.

Late last year, some users reported that they had received updates on their PS4 which enabled VR support on YouTube, but the quality was very poor due to the headset’s wide field-of-view. With the official launch today, Sony and YouTube have presumably fixed those issues.

If you’d like to try it out for yourself, simply update your YouTube app to the latest version and enjoy!
