Remember the Palm Phone? That bizarre 3.3-inch “companion” Android phone that launched last year just got the hands-on treatment from us, and now the Palm Phone is getting an official battery case from Mophie.
Despite being a rather popular Android smartphone, there aren’t as many great cases available for the Google Pixel as there are for the Galaxy S8 or LG G6. Although late to the game, Mophie has finally released a version of its Juice Pack battery cases for the Pixel XL. The Juice Pack does add a bit of thickness to the handset but it also almost doubles its battery life and adds wireless charging.
But is it worth the $99 pricetag?

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are two of the best phones you can buy today, but they don’t pack the best battery life, especially in the case of the smaller S8. Both should get most people through a day, but that’s about it. Thankfully, Mophie has a solution with its new battery cases for both phones.
MobileFun has announced that the new Mophie Juice Pack for the Samsung Galaxy S7 is now available to pre-order at Mobile Fun for £89. It features a 3300mAh battery, so should roughly double the battery life of the new phone, and is the first Juice Pack to use Qi wireless charging.
It’s not yet showing up on the company’s U.S. site, but is likely to appear both there and in Mophie’s Amazon store shortly. A direct pound to dollar rate would price it at $124, but I’d expect it to be rather cheaper when it hits the USA …

Popular accessory maker Zagg today announced that it has acquired Mophie, another accessory maker best known for its battery cases and power accessories. The deal will see Zagg purchase Mophie for $100 million. Mophie CEO Daniel Huang and COO Shawn Dougherty will continue their current respective roles and will report to Zagg CEO Randy Hales.
