Droid Incredible 4G LTE extended battery spotted on retail site

The yet-to-be released HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE just received more verification about its pending existence due to two accessories that suddenly appeared on retail website HTCPedia.

The HTC 2150 mAh Extended Battery for HTC Incredible 4G LTE and HTC Extended Battery Door for HTC Incredible 4G LTE for $34.99 and $19.99, respectively, are further indications that this highly-anticipated smartphone is on the way.

Earlier this week, the Droid Incredible 4G accidentally—and temporarily—popped up on Verizon’s “Droid Does” website, and images of the device even surfaced around the Web at the beginning of April. These leaks verify rumors that the latest Droid will pack a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch display, LTE bands, and Android 4.0 with HTC’s custom Sense 4 on top. Presumably, the device will also feature an 8-megapixel shooter.

LG has teased their unannounced LU6200 this evening, which features spectacular specs close to the rumored HTC Incredible HD. The LU6200 (we’d prefer a nicer naming scheme) is rumored to be packing a 4.5-inch 720P HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Gingerbread, LTE, 8-megapixel back-facing shooter, 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, and NFC. Pre-orders are rumored to start September 26th. (via Engadget)

The Droid Incredible HD (known as the Vigor) by HTC is set to land on Verizon October 13th, according to a leaked document published by PhanDroid.  Besides the launch date, the leak outlines some very impressive specs for the Incredible HD: 4G LTE,  720p HD screen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM, Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, 8-megapixel back-facing camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and Beats by Dr. Dre earbuds. Sleek!

Qualcomm overhauls confusing naming scheme

Site default logo image

Qualcomm, the company who makes the Snapdragon processor seen in many Android devices, has overhauled their naming scheme. Qualcomm’s naming scheme used to be MSM8260, MSM855T, MSM8930, and so on. Today, Qualcomm is moving their naming scheme into a four tier system: S1, S2, S3, S4.

S1 processors will be 1GHz and below and will be for mass market. S2 is for high performance devices, like the Droid Incredible,  with speeds up to 1.4 GHz. Devices like the EVO 3 will fall under S3, with up to 1.5 GHz. And finally, S4 will be for everything between 1.6 GHz and 2.5 GHz — which doesn’t actually include anything, yet.

When better processors come around S1 won’t become S2, rather, a S5 tier will be created. Check out the S3 below: (via TechCrunch)
