More Galaxy Nexus pictures surface on the web

Today, we have found a few pictures taken by the upcoming Galaxy Nexus on Picasa. We’ve matched the EXIF data of both images with each other, and then with past leaks which seem to indicate that this is the Galaxy Nexus. The Galaxy Nexus’ camera has a resolution of 1944×2592 pixels, and matches the photos leaked a couple weeks ago of an Apple Store. Note, that the EXIF data of both images called this device the Galaxy Nexus, not the Nexus Prime.

The first image, as seen after the break, was posted by Picasa user Sammy Fte (Samsung FTE?). The EXIF data of the image matched perfectly and actually looks like a nice picture if you ask us. The resolution was only 1944×2595, only sizing in at about 5MP, a low megapixel camera in comparison to the 8MP camera seen in Samsung’s Galaxy S II and there may be a reason for this. A previous photo found with Galaxy Nexus EXIF data on Picasa had the same 5MP quality and it led us to believe that the camera is the same.  We believe that this certain Picasa user is an employee of Samsung thanks to the name and other photos posted on the account.

As you can see after the break..

Sammy Fte also has a photo, taken by the Galaxy Tab 10.1, of himself or a co-worker sitting at a desk holding an unknown phone. On his desk however, a phone appears to be the Galaxy Prime based on styling and, when zoomed in, lacks any visible capacitive buttons or scroll bar which rule out the possibility of it being the Nexus One or Nexus S. You can also see the slight tapered design. We can conclude this a Samsung office based on the large Samsung GT-B7722i (Exclusive to Asia) poster in the background, located just behind a large column and the abundance of Samsung monitors.

Yet another photo by Sammy Fte taken with the unreleased Galaxy Note is especially intriguing to us as it gives an even closer look than the other photos, of what appears to be the Galaxy Nexus which shows up in the bottom left corner of the photo. The photo appears to have been taken on the same desk as seen in the image before with an added laptop. The Galaxy Prime featured just barely in the corner is recognizable based on size, using the other objects in the image as reference/scale, and based on the bezel we have come to know so well thanks to Samsung’s teaser and several leaks of the phone.

Lastly, we have a photo taken by Picasa user Chit Sec, who is possibly another Samsung employee. We did have the chance to see all of Chit’s pictures on her Google+ account, none of which met with the 1944×2592, except for the one we also saw on her Picasa account. It just so happens that the first photo we saw, taken by Sammy Fte meets the same 1944×2592 resolution. If Sammy Fte is a Samsung employee, as we suspect, then Chit is most likely also a Samsung employee, both whom have been caught off guard posting images with Galaxy Nexus data on Picasa.

While the above information isn’t confirmed, it does seem to all add up. At any rate, Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus is expected to be announced on October 19th alongside Ice Cream Sandwich in Hong Kong, and will finally ease our waiting.
