Motorola asks community to submit Moto 360 watch face designs ahead of launch

Motorola has spent a lot of time since first introducing the Moto 360 talking about how its Android Wear smartwatch will be better than the other guys. That super streamlined watch face it’s been showing off in its promo videos might not be the only watch face users will have access to, however, as today the company asked the community to begin submitting watch face designs ahead of the device’s official launch. Motorola isn’t saying if these designs will ever be used or available to Moto 360 users, but it will be giving away the smartwatch to one submission selected as a winner:

Choose one of the official template PSDs to get started on your #Moto360 watch face design! All submissions must be JPEG, PNG, or GIF and created from these files.http://bit.ly/1gPdIl5 …  When you’re done, upload your entry into the “Post Submissions Here” thread. http://bit.ly/1of7wm2

Motorola posted the watch face design examples pictured above to its Google+ page for the contest.

When Motorola first announced the upcoming smartwatch, which runs Google’s recently introduced Android Wear platform, it said we could expect to see it available to buy this summer. It’s since shown off the watch in a number of promo videos and interviews:

Motorola is accepting watch face submissions until June 10, 2014 at 3PM CT and the contest to win a Moto 360 is open to anyone submitting from United States, Puerto Rico, Canada (excluding Quebec), and United Kingdom age 18 and over.
