Google’s new ‘Android Fundamentals’ course teaches you how to develop Android apps

Google has announced a new online training course called Developing Android Apps: Android Fundamentals, featuring Google Developer Advocates Reto Meier, Dan Galpin, and Katherine Kuan. The course delivers step-by-step training on how to develop Android apps, including some of the best practices for Android development and mobile development as a whole. All of the course materials are available for free through the educational website Udacity.

Android Fundamentals complements Google’s existing development resources, including UX Design for Mobile Developers and Mobile Web Development. Google also has documentation, videos and coding samples available on its website to help both beginners and advanced users. If you want to take your studies one step further, Udacity offers a paid guided program that you can enroll in to receive personal feedback and guidance from coaches.

“Mobile devices are the platform that will bring the next five billion people online,” writes Reto Meier, Head of Scalable Developer Advocacy at Google. “With Android expanding rapidly into emerging markets, and growing beyond phones and tablets into wearables, auto, and TV, learning the fundamentals behind Android development represents an opportunity to affect and improve the lives of billions of people.”

If you have been looking to learn Android app development, now is a better chance than ever to get started.
