Xbox One SmartGlass Beta for Android updated with remote game purchases

If your gaming habits extend beyond your mobile devices and you’ve picked up an Xbox One, Microsoft’s updated SmartGlass Beta app might be a worthy download. Not to be confused with Redmond’s full-time SmartGlass app, this software offers an early look at some of the new second screen features coming to Microsoft latest game console.

To sample the Xbox One SmartGlass Beta app, you’ll need an Xbox One, a device running Android 4.0 or higher and at least 16MB of available storage space. If your setup meets these prerequisites, you’ll be treated to new features like remote purchases for Xbox One games and content add-ons, along with the ability to like game clips and items in your activity feed. There’s also a mention of bug fixes and stability improvements in the software’s changelog, but since the app is being used for beta testing, you’ll probably want to take these so-called performance upgrades with a grain of salt.
