New Chrome dev update lets you check individual app and website power consumption

The latest Chrome Dev Channel update adds the ability to check how much of your Chromebook’s battery power is being used by an individual app or website. To access this slick new feature, visit the Settings window and select the “Battery” option under the device section.

This will generate a new window listing your device’s open items and their power consumption from greatest to least. The usage will be displayed as percentages and each program or page can be killed by clicking the “Stop” button. There’s no telling if or when this feature will make its way to a stable version of Chrome, but if you’re currently tinkering with the platform’s dev setup, it’s definitely worth trying.
