The 2014 Moto X is one of our favorite smartphones released this year and if you invested in the Pure Edition and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, you’ll be able to take your new handset’s flexibility to another level. The crafty folks at Team Win have ported their custom recovery tool to the Google-owned company’s current flagship handset.
In order to use TWRP with the second-generation Moto X, you’ll need a version of the device with a bootloader that can be unlocked. If your setup fits the bill, you can pull the necessary materials directly from Team Win and visit this XDA thread to chat with other folks tinkering with their new smartphone. While we’re pretty happy with the Moto X’s stock offerings, it’ll be interesting to see what the Android development community manages to put together.
