AT&T confirms that it will eventually carry the LG G Watch R

AT&T announced today that it will be one of America’s first wireless carrier’s to sell the LG G Watch R. Ma Bell didn’t provide any specific details about pricing and release plans, however LG recently said that the gadget’s global rollout is scheduled to start sometime next month.

Compatible with devices running Android 4.3 or higher, the LG G Watch R is a follow up to the company’s square-shaped G Watch, which AT&T currently carriers for $229. We went hands-on with LG’s new Android Wear-powered timepiece last month during IFA in Berlin and found its hardware to be very similar to its predecessor, with the exception of its round face and heart rate monitoring sensor.

So far AT&T is the first wireless carrier to confirm that it will offer LG’s new smartwatch, but it’ll likely have some competition around launch time.
