Galaxy Note 4 starts to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop in Poland

With Galaxy S5 Lollipop updates in full swing, many have begun to wonder the status of updates for the Galaxy Note 4. Samsung, according to users in Poland, has today started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop to the Galaxy Note 4. The recipients of the update claim that it dramatically overhauls the TouchWiz interface, as expected. It also, of course, adds many of the features we’ve come to know and love in Lollipop (via SamMobile).

The update is based on Android 5.0.1 and includes expandable lock screen notifications from stock Lollipop. In terms of design, the interface is still very obviously based on TouchWiz, albeit much cleaner than the KitKat version of the overlay. Many of Samsung’s own apps have been refreshed with a Material Design look and feel, as well.

Samsung has a habit of rolling out updates to devices in Poland only at first. It did the same thing with the Galaxy S5 and LG did it with the G3, as well. If the process is similar to the one Samsung took with the Galaxy S5, other Note 4 variants in Europe should receive Android 5.0 within the coming weeks, while the U.S. variants will lag behind due to carrier approval.

Note 4 users in Poland can check for the update now by heading into Settings > About Phone > Software updates and hitting the “Check now” button. The update is not yet available in Samsung’s Kies software.
