Mickey Mouse Apple Watch face unofficially makes its way to Android Wear

The Apple Watch was once again shown off at Apple’s “Spring Forward” event on Monday, and it looks like the Android Wear community is already putting together some watch faces inspired by Apple’s selections. Ironically, first up is the iconic Mickey Mouse face that has been the brunt of many a joke in the Android community on Google+, and it looks like the XDA-Developers user who made it did a pretty good job of replicating the real deal…

This watch face has actually been available in some form since October, but previous versions were riddled with bugs and performance & battery problems. The developer came out yesterday, though, to release version 2.0 of the watch face and according to several posts in the unofficial Android Wear community on Google+, this version seems to be up to par (and it’s built on the actual watch face API, too).

The face is a very good replication of the one expected to ship with Apple Watch; Mickey’s feet have a tap animation like the original, and his head and body bob as well. Previous versions of the watch face reportedly lagged when the backlight would fade in and out, but that problem looks to be resolved in the latest version.
