HTC unveils HTC One ME, a dual-sim smartphone packing MediaTek’s Helio X10 chipset

Further differentiating its lineup (or complicating it, however you look at it), HTC has just unveiled a new dual-sim HTC One for the Chinese market called the HTC One ME, previously believed to be called ME9, via its website. The high-end smartphone matches the specifications and physical design of the One M9+ but only has a single 20MP round camera on the back, like the One E9+.

In terms of specs the One ME rocks a 64-bit 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor (the first phone to be powered by this chipset), 3GB of RAM, a 2,840mAh battery, and a 5.2″ QHD display. It also has 32GB of internal storage expandable through a microSD slot, a 4MP UltraPixel camera on the front, 4G LTE, and the popular BoomSound front-facing speakers.

The One ME will be available at launch in Rose Gold, Gold Sepia, and Meteor Gray, and runs HTC’s Sense Android Lollipop skin. From what we can tell this is really just a combination of the One M9+ and the One E9+: the faster processor, smaller 5.2″ display (the One E9+ has a 5.5″ display) and fingerprint sensor of the M9+ combined with the single camera of the E9+. It also incorporates the dual-sim aspect of the E9+, which the M9+ doesn’t have. There’s no word on whether or not the device will launch outside of China, but it seems like it’ll be a limited release.
