Google’s Messenger 1.4 lets you send animated stickers, quickly share your location

Google has today updated its default Messenger app to version 1.4, bringing some minor enhancements along the way. In the new version, you’ll find you can now send cute little animated stickers as well as more easily send your location to others…

As if it’s not already confusing enough that there are two apps on the Play Store called “Messenger” (Facebook’s offering being the other), Google is adding features that make its Messenger a lot more like the latter one. Stickers have long been a feature available on Facebook’s platform, and now you can choose from some that are equally as cute on Google’s. There are multiple collections available right now, including “The Lovable Zoo” and a bunch cute food animations.

Also added in this update is a quick button to send your location to others. You need to tap the attachment button to the left of the text entry field (just like you do for the new animated stickers), and then tap the little pin icon. You’ll then be able to send your location from here with just a couple of taps.

The update is of course completely free, and you can grab it on APKMirror or as the update rolls out gradually on the Play Store.
