Verizon’s HTC One M9 and LG G3/G4 receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow today

Verizon’s LG G3 and G4 will be joining the HTC One M9 in getting Marshmallow today. The carrier has announced that OTA updates for those devices are rolling out now. HTC announced Android 6.0 last week and the LG G4 on AT&T and T-Mobile have already gotten their updates in the past weeks.

Verizon advises a strong Wi-Fi or cellular connection and a fully charged battery before downloading the update. The One M9 will be updated to software version 3.37.605.7 after the update, while the G3 will be at VS98546A and G4 at VS98624C. Besides new features like Now on Tap, a new permissions model, and Doze mode, these updates also bring the newest OEM skins. Specifically, the One M9 is now on Sense 7.0. Head over to Verizon’s support site for a full changelog of what’s new.

Yesterday, Samsung announced that Marshmallow is rolling out to the S6 and S6 Edge around the world. With large OEMs finally releasing the latest version of Android to last year’s devices, next month’s distribution numbers should feature a decent amount of growth.
