Google today updated the Sheets and Slides apps for Android with support for additional file formats.

For Sheets, you’ll now be able to send or save a spreadsheet as HTML (in a .zip file) and you’ll also find support for saving sheets as a .CSV or .TSV, all via the “Share & export” menu. Additionally, you’ll now be able to view Google Drawings, although Google notes that ‘Drawings will not be visible in frozen rows and columns.”

For Slides, the “Share & export” menu will now give you an option to send or download a slide in .JPEG, .PNG, or .SVG file formats.

  • Send a copy of or save a spreadsheet as an HTML web page file (provided in a .ZIP folder) from theShare & export menu.
  • Save the sheet you’re currently viewing as a .CSV or .TSV file from the Share & export menu.
  • View Google Drawings in spreadsheets (note that Drawings will not be visible in frozen rows and columns).
  • Send a copy of or download the slide you’re currently viewing as a .JPEG, .PNG, or .SVG file from theShare & export menu.

The new features should be hitting via updated Google Sheets and Slides apps for Android on Google Play for all users over the next few days.
