Android Marshmallow now rolling out to Galaxy S6 in Canada, LG V10 on T-Mobile

Android Marshmallow is making perhaps the slowest crawl ever in adoption, only just recently managing to find itself installed on a measly 4% of Android devices. Now, reports suggest that more handsets are finally getting the latest version. In today’s updates, we’re hearing of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge owners getting Android Marshmallow in Canada, as well as users of T-Mobile’s LG v10…

Various reports say that Android Marshmallow is available to Galaxy S6 and S6 edge owners who are subscribed on Eastlink, SaskTel, and Videotron, and that the update is coming for Bell and Telus very soon. Earlier this month, Telus’ Software Update Schedule suggested that the update for the Galaxy S6 edge is set to come April 14th, alongside the update for the Galaxy S6 on April 18th.

We told you a few weeks ago that Android Marshmallow was set to roll out to the Verizon LG v10, but today TmoNews says that the phone is getting updated on T-Mobile as well. It seems many users have reported receiving the update over-the-air, while others have used LG Bridge (which lets users manage their phone on their PC) to get the update.

Of course, these Marshmallow updates bring many of the features that Google showed off way back at Google I/O 2015. Android M brings support for built-in fingerprint sensors, proper support for USB Type-C, a new text selection tool, a vertical scrolling app drawer, native Android Pay support, and more.
