Samsung Galaxy Note 6 to be released the week of August 15th

Just like pretty much every other Android handset ever, we already know — or think we know — a lot of specifications and other details about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 6. Now, via Evan Blass, it looks like we have pretty solid confirmation of when the phone will be hitting shelves in the United States: the week of August 15th…

All the way back in March, a sketchy report suggested that the device would be coming in July with Android N in tow. Perhaps Evan’s claim that it’s instead coming at least a couple weeks later lends credence for the second half of that rumor. We wouldn’t expect a flagship to ship with the latest version of Google’s OS with such an early release date, but perhaps the early release of the Android N developer preview this year will make a difference.

A second rumor “confirmed” by SamMobile about a month ago suggested that the Galaxy Note 6 may bring an iris scanner alongside water resistance, and yet another claimed that the phone will have a massive 5.8″ display and monster 4000mAh battery, as well as a 12MP camera, a microSD slot, and again two chipsets; this time a Snapdragon 823 and a slightly higher-clocked Exynos 8890 (the same one found on the S7s) for the rest of the world. Most recently, the Galaxy Note 6 was tipped — again by SamMobile — to have a USB Type-C port.

Of course none of these claims are ridiculous (and it’s likely that many if not all of them will come true), but now we have this little tweet to add to the pile of rumors:
