OnePlus is opening 7 pop-up stores around the world to let you go hands-on with the OnePlus 3

The OnePlus 3 is right around the corner. On June 14 (one day after in China), the company will officially unveil its latest flagship phone, but among the few ways set up to get your hands on a early copy of the device, there seems to be one more now added to the list…

Much like it did with the OnePlus 2 last year, the Chinese firm is returning to its partner boutiques around the world, which will open for a limited time and let you get your hands on the device right after the Loop-based presentation is over.

Pop-up stores are not the only thing OnePlus is bringing back to help launch its flagship device. While it could claim to be the first company to launch a product entirely in VR last year — essentially giving away a limited quantity of OnePlus-branded cardboards — OnePlus is stepping up its game, offering Gear VR-like headsets this time around.

The 30,000 unit put on sale went away fairly quickly, but any smartphone-compatible VR headset will be suitable to enter The Loop and enjoy the VR presentation. However, the company is claiming another “first”, this time saying that the 3’s announcement will be “the world’s first VR shopping experience”.

There will be no invite required, and everyone will be able to purchase their OnePlus 3 once the launch has ended. However, attending the opening of one of the pop-up stores will not only let you have some hands-on time with the phone, but also purchase it there and then.

As per OnePlus, “exclusive swag will be up for grabs”, too, and there is no need to sign up; you will simply go the place and — likely — line up to enter the store.

The cities included are New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Dehli, Mumbai and Bangalore; for additional information regarding specific times and places, head over to OnePlus website.
