Huawei has been on a roll over the past year or two, releasing smartphones that are nothing short of fantastic at a number of price points. One of the company’s big releases in 2015 was the Huawei Mate 8, and this year that device is getting a successor in the Mate 9, and it’s just leaked…

Thanks to a collection of press renders and information from Playfuldroid and Weibo, we can see the design of the new smartphone and confirm a lot of details.

First, we’ll talk about the hardware. Just like the Mate 8, the Mate 9 features an all metal design with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a large display with thin side bezels. The device also apparently comes in six different colors including gold, gray, white, “mocha,” pink, and most drool-inducing, black.

The Mate 9 also brings a revised camera setup with two Leica cameras presumably with the same purpose as that of the Huawei P9’s cameras. The device likely brings Huawei’s new Kirin 960 processor, but this leak does confirm that it will feature at least 4GB of RAM in all models and 6GB of RAM in top-tier models. The following configurations and prices also come from this leak.

  • 4GB RAM/64GB storage – 3,199 yuan ($480)
  • 4GB RAM/128GB storage – 3,899 yuan ($580)
  • 6GB RAM/256GB storage – 4,700 yuan ($700)

Unfortunately, it appears that certain color options will only be available with specific pricing tiers. The top-tier will be available in all six colors, but other models are limited. For example, the black model will only be available with the top-tier option.

Huawei is expected to launch the Mate 9 soon with rumors pointing toward a launch sometime around mid to late November.
