PSA: All Google Pixel models now either shipping in 4-5 weeks or are out of stock

Even those who pre-ordered Pixel devices immediately after Google’s 10/4 event are facing delays ranging in the weeks.

Yesterday evening, the last Pixel available for shipment on October 20th joined the non-sold out configurations in 4-5 week ship times…

The last model in the US Google Store available for launch day shipment was the 32GB Pixel in ‘Quite Black.’ It has now slipped back to an estimated delivery of November 23-25 with Standard shipping and joins the ‘Very Silver’ 32GB version. Of course, the Limited Edition ‘Really Blue’ — which only comes in 32GB — was quick to sell out.

Meanwhile, the Pixel XL continues to be out of stock in all colors and storage capacities. Current purchasers of the larger sized Pixel are just placed on a waitlist with no estimated availability date provided.

Presumably, the Google Store’s stock will be replenished nearer the holiday season, but in the meantime Verizon is likely the best way to get a Pixel immediately in the near future. After Google clarified that Verizon Pixels will get updates simultaneously with the unlocked version, a purchase of a carrier model is now a slightly better proposition.

No doubt, together with all of the returned Samsung Note 7s, Google’s homepage advertising pre-orders likely contributed to low stock as launch day approaches this Thursday. Google has also been vigorously advertising the Pixel with billboards and structures in major cities and online advertisements consisting of several videos.
