Android Basics: How to setup secondary actions on the capacitive buttons on the OnePlus 3 and 3T

OnePlus offers a lot when it comes to customizing the 3 and 3T. Building on top of the ability to enable either on-screen or capacitive navigation buttons, OnePlus allows you to add additional actions behind the Home, Recents, and Back buttons…

In case you want more shortcuts than those provided with the default navigation buttons, you can also setup your OnePlus to launch the flashlight or a number of other actions by simply long pressing and double tapping on the Home, Recents, or Back button.

How to enable long press and double tap navigation button actions:

  1. Go to Settings menu
  2. Scroll down to the Buttons option which is under the Personal heading
  3. Make sure that you have capacitive navigation buttons turned on. Read our tutorial to learn how
  4. Scroll down and you will find sections to setup long press and double tap actions for the Home, Recents, and Back buttons
  5. Tap on the type of action you want to setup and assign it a task from the list made available
