During a 50 minute speech today concerning health care, President Obama employed an extended metaphor that mentioned how companies fix and upgrade smartphones when bugs arise. However, the Commander-in-Chief could not help but drop a topical reference about the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
The President did not mention the Samsung device by name, but did mention how phones that “catch fire” are pulled off the market. There was a big laugh from the audience over the remark as Obama smirked before moving on with the rest of his speech.
While the news has died down for the most part, it will be a long time before Samsung lives down the incident. When it reaches the leader of the free world, it’s probably peaked.
