For the last half year, I’ve been using a Pixel 2 XL nearly exclusively. It’s been a trusty companion amidst the weirdness of my consumer electronics choices — currently made up of the Pixel itself, a pair of AirPods, an Apple Watch, and my Jacquard jacket. And while Ben did a great job summing it up in his initial review, I think it’s finally time to talk more about what makes the Pixel 2 XL so great and why it has, as he wrote, dethroned its predecessor.

Google is working to bring wireless Android Auto to phones running Android 8.0
In the midst of I/O 2018, Kenwood, a maker of Android Auto infotainment head units, announced that Android 9.0 would be required to work with wireless Android Auto other than current Pixel (and select Nexus) devices. Now, in an addendum to its press release, the company is rolling back these comments.

ARCore 1.1 hints at more supported devices, including Nexus 6P, Galaxy S9 [APK Insight]
After seeing a spate of ARCore apps announced last week for GDC, Google is today rolling out version 1.1 of the Android SDK for augmented reality. As promised at launch last month, this update hints at support for more devices.
