SAME DESIGN...

At a glance, the Nest Hub (2nd gen) looks exactly like the 2018 Home Hub. Google carried over the “floating screen attached to an oblong fabric-covered base” aesthetic.
...EXCEPT FOR THE SCREEN
03.
A flat display design sees glass sit atop the plastic back. It makes the screen easier to clean as dust can no longer get trapped. Another benefit is edge-to-edge gestures.
NEW QUICK GESTURES
04.
You’re able to play/pause media by “air-tapping" in front of the Nest Hub. It’s wonderful for listening to music while in bed and just vaguely gesturing to end playback.
SLEEP TRACKING
05.
Powered by Soli radar, the Nest Hub tracks your sleep if it's 1-2 feet away from your bed. No body or face images are captured.
THREE MAIN SLEEP RESULTS

ACCURATE TRACKING
07.
After two weeks, I’ve found radar-based sleep tracking to be mostly in line with a Fitbit smartwatch. The Nest Hub could be better at recognizing when you’re awake but still in bed.
