Pixel 8 Pro Review It's all coming together

By Ben Schoon

The Google Pixel 8 Pro is the company's latest flagship phone, delivering new specs, cameras, and more.  But, is it any good?

Looking first at the hardware, the overall look of Pixel 8 Pro hasn't changed much from the past models, but there are some key improvements such as:  - The display is now flat  - The rear glass has a matte finish  - The new blue color is striking

The display on Pixel 8 Pro is especially impressive, with the 6.7-inch QHD+ panel being the brightest display you can get on a smartphone in the United States. Yes, it's better than the iPhone!

And that display still shows off Google's killer software experience, which is now based on Android 14 and absolutely packed with AI features.

AI features on the Pixel 8 Pro include: - Custom generative AI wallpapers - 'Audio Eraser' to remove background noise from videos - 'Best Take' to replace the face of someone in a photo with their face from another photo taken at the same time.

One of the other cool new AI features is "Magic Editor," which can move objects around in a photo, replace the sky, and more. It's like Photoshop on your phone.

Of course, there's also the camera, which is what the Pixel is known for. On Pixel 8 Pro, an updated main camera sensor helps deliver some of the best stills on a smartphone, and video is pretty good too.

Google is also rolling out a new feature called "Video Boost" later this year which will let you upload your videos to Google for a major improvement to colors, quality, and more. It looks pretty incredible.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro both also get an industry-leading commitment for software updates, with the two phones guaranteed seven years of OS updates.  Not even Apple does that!

Pixel 8 Pro is available now for $999, which is more expensive than the last generation. We think the higher price is worth it! If you want to know more, swipe up to read our full  in-depth review.
