These are the Gmail features you might not know even exist

By Andrew Romero

Gmail is one product from Google that can be as complex as you want or as simple as you want. That being said, here are some cool features that you can put to good use!

Scheduled send

Did you know that you could schedule an email? Simply tap the dropdown arrow next to the Send button and choose a time. By doing this, you can delay emails or have them send first thing in the morning.

Did you know that on desktop, you can create labels for your emails? Not only that, but you can change the color of the labels to better organize them. Simply click the little three-dot menu next to your labels to change the color of them with ease.

Changing label colors

Remember how we said things could get complex? Well, here it is... Gmail allows you to specify rules for incoming emails. You can have certain emails from certain senders archived immediately or forwarded to other people. These emails can even be sorted into labels based on content! Automatically organizing emails

On the web, Gmail can either be super busy or completely clean. It's all up to you. To change the layout of your inbox, tap the settings cog and select between Default, Comfortable, and Compact. Doing this will allow you to decide how much info you want to see at once. Personally, I like to see as much information as possible, so Default is my go-to.

Changing your theme

Did you know that Gmail doesn't have to be bland? You can change the background to basically any color or photo! Head into settings and hit View all in the Theme section. Choose from a selection of photos and backgrounds, or choose your own Google Photos images to use as the background! It's completely up to you.

Hopefully you learned something about Gmail that you previously hadn't known. If you want to know more, head to 9to5Google.com for the latest on Google and Android products and devices!
