Mere days before the Made by Google event, Google has decided to announce the new Nest Doorbell (wired).
This long-awaited device might look a little familiar. In fact, it's almost an exact replica of the Nest Doorbell (battery) – a great doorbell that runs on a battery or plugged in.
So why a wired version? Well, the Nest Doorbell (wired) is capable of 24/7 recording, unlike the battery version.
Constant recording means you don't miss a thing and you can look back on up to 10 days worth of video history. It also means you don't have to worry about battery drain.
Besides that, there is one other design change...
The Nest Doorbell (wired) is about 30% shorter, meaning it doesn't take on that bulky look the battery version does.
While the Nest Doorbell (wired) does need to be hooked up to your home, it provides a little more security than the battery version, though we still highly recommend it.
