These smartwatches are confirmed to be compatible with Wear OS 3

Wear OS 3 brings many improvements to Google's smartwatches including an update to Android 11, battery improvements, and sensor-related changes from Samsung's Tizen.

Wear OS 3 requires a very new chip, such as the Snapdragon Wear 4100. This means almost every existing smartwatch, including every Wear 3100 device, will not be updated.

With Wear OS 3.0 now available on the Galaxy Watch 4, you might think upgrades are coming soon. However, Google has said the first Wear OS 3 upgrades won't be here until mid 2022.

With all of that in mind, here are the few smartwatches that will be upgradeable to Wear OS 3.0, including watches already available and some soon to be released.

As the first company to adopt the Snapdragon Wear 4100, it's no surprise that the latest watches from Mobvoi will get the Wear OS 3 upgrade, including their flagship TicWatch Pro 3.

Mobvoi's more affordable smartwatch, the TicWatch E3, is also poised to get Wear OS 3.0 next year, along with some "upcoming" watches from the brand.

Announced in August, Fossil Gen 6 watches sport the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ & 1GB RAM, and come in a few color & band options. These watches will release on 9/27 and can be pre-ordered now.

Alongside their own watches, Fossil's sub-brands like Michael Kors will also release Gen 6 watches in the coming months. All of these watches will also get a Wear OS 3 upgrade in 2022.
