Here’s everything new in Android 17 Beta 1 [Gallery]

Google today officially announced Android 17 Beta 1 for Pixel devices. This joins the stable Android 16 QPR2 release and 16 QPR3 Beta that’s winding down.

Over the coming hours, we’ll dive into all of Android 17 Beta 1’s new features and every single change. (The newest updates will be at the top of this list. Search widget changes

Updated brightness icon

Location indicator is now slightly darker

Gemini screen shrink animation now available from corner swipe

  • It was previously only available when the Gemini overlay was activated from the power button

More compact Settings menus

  • Google has removed some vertical height from menu items for a more compact look.

New Volume overflow icon

  • Instead of three dots, we get a proper settings icon to better indicate the volume sheet.
  • It still switches to a waveform when media is playing.

Cinnamon Bun

Android 17’s codename is Cinnamon Bun.
