Google is updating Android 17’s Quick Settings in the latest beta release with a fun new animation that’s a little bit bouncy.
Live in Android 17 QPR1 Beta 3, pulling down the Quick Settings tray now shows the same bouncy little animation you see when dropping into the notification shade. The contents of the screen will follow the inertia of your swipe with a “bounce” as it snaps back into the place it’s meant to be.
In previous Android builds, this animation only happened in the notification shade, where it somewhat hints to the user that a second swipe reveals more functionality. Within the Quick Settings, though, it really just exists as a nice bit of continuity.

Google is rolling out QPR1 Beta 3 now on Pixel devices, with the stable release coming sometime over the Summer. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for the first stable release of Android 17.
