Aqara’s Google Home-compatible smart locks, hubs, and sensors see steep discounts

Aqara has been at the forefront of developing smart home products that break barriers. Right now, some of the best products the company has ever released are on sale, including its new Matter M3 Hub, Smart Lock U300, and fantastic sensor bundles.

Aqara’s Matter Hub M3 has proven to be a big step in smart home devices. Not only does it comply with the new Matter standard, but it also allows the company’s other devices to connect more universally. Matter hubs allow devices to talk to each other across ecosystems, essentially breaking the limitations users have had to experience sticking to one ecosystem like Google Home or Apple HomeKit.

The Smart Hub M3 prioritizes local control and automation, which means it doesn’t take up precious bandwidth to control dozens of devices. It’s also able to control up to 127 Thread devices with the help of repeaters. The M3 is also a very secure unit with 8GB of end-to-end encrypted local storage for device lists and storage parameters.

If you’re planning on using some of Aqara’s more popular devices, the Smart Hub M3 is a must. Those devices are then able to connect to the smart home ecosystem of your choice, which brings a new level of versatility. It even works with older Aqara Hubs to ensure a solid, upgraded connection.

A good example of a high-end device Aqara offers is the Smart Lock U300. The U300 is a keyless smart lock with its own handle that utilizes a keypad and fingerprint sensor to unlock your home, office, or other doorways. The U300 replaces non-deadbolt locks, making it perfect for use inside the house or anywhere that houses a door without a deadbolt.

The device is Matter-compatible and can be controlled over various ecosystems natively with Thread built-in. That means Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and more have access and don’t require a hub to establish a connection. That includes the 2nd gen Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max, and Nest Wifi Pro.

Beyond fingerprints and passcodes, temporary passcodes can be set through the app. The U300 also uses NFC tech, allowing users to unlock the phone with their devices instead of their fingerprints, though that functionality is limited to iOS. The unit itself is rated IPX4 water-resistant, which means it’ll stand up to some inclement weather. In fact, emergency unlocks are available, and other features ensure you can get in when needed.

Speaking of inclement weather and sticky situations, Aqara also provides a series of sensors that do a lot to keep you confident in the safety of your home. One of the most useful, in our opinion, is the Water Leak Sensor kit, which comes with three sensors. Those sensors are powered by batteries, which means they are easy to install. When connected to the Aqara M3 Hub, the sensors will alert you if a water leak or adverse wet conditions are present. The sensors also have the ability to begin automation on other devices if a water leak is detected, depending on your needs.

The Water Leak Sensors are equipped with IP67 water and dust resistance, which is necessary yet comforting. It essentially means they’ll continue to work well after they’ve been doused with water.

Aqara brings other sensors to smart homes, as well. For example, the company makes door and window sensors alongside temperature and humidity sensors. Together, they give the homeowner a little more security in knowing that the home is in working order. Both allow for automation depending on conditions, which means you can have devices turn on when a door is opened or if it gets too humid/dry inside. Each works with the Smart Hub M3 and, by extension, major smart home ecosystems.

Right now, Aqara is running a pretty big sale that drops these devices from their original prices to something even better. The prices are listed below:

  • Aqara Smart Hub M3 – $99.99
  • Aqara Smart Lock U300 – $183.99
  • Aqara Water Leak Sensor bundle – $38.49
  • Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor bundle – $38.89
  • Aqara Door and Window Sensor bundle – $33.99
