YouTube Rewind 2016 highlights the year’s best videos, memes, and several Google Pixels

It’s hard to believe that we’re only a couple of short weeks away from the end of the year. As it has over the past few years, YouTube has taken that opportunity to release a mashup of all the top events, memes, videos, and songs from the year.

This year, the mashup starts off with references to The Rock starting up his own channel, quick cameos from popular apps like Pokémon Go, and dozens of YouTubers referencing some of their most popular videos from the year. Personally, I picked out about 15 references to videos I’d seen, but the cameos from YouTubers was seemingly endless, bringing in at least 77 channels.

Also worth noting this year, Google made it a point to show off its new smartphone, the Google Pixel, several times throughout the video. The Huawei Watch even makes a quick appearance on the wrist of the biggest YouTuber, PewDiePie. You can check out the full video below, as well as a behind-the-scenes video.
