Asus teases a new device: Pad or phone?

Computer maker Asus, whose Eee Pad Transformer tablet-meets-computer became quite popular among techies, is teasing a new device set to be revealed at Computex 2011, which runs between May 31 and June 4 in Taipei. The work of the Asus Design Team, the slab features smooth lines, premium finish and a little bump with a clip. Check out three gorgeous close-ups below the fold, courtesy of Techinstyle.TV.

The company’s official Facebook page teases further with the slogan “Breaks the rules: Pad or phone?” (actually suggesting both). It’s hard to guesstimate the gizmo’s screen size, software offering and whether it would double as a computer via a dedicated dock, like the Eee Pad Transformer. If history is an indication, this could be another interesting Honeycomb-driven device with a custom-built UI layer and top-design. The “Pad or phone” tagline also suggest that the slab’s display might be somewhere in the range of  up to seven inches.
