Voting is now live for this year’s Doodle 4 Google finalists

Voting is now live on this year’s Doodle 4 Google contest where kids from around the country can have their drawing showcased on one of the most visited sites on the web. Internet voters will have until February 22nd to choose the best doodle from each of the five grade groups. In turn, a panel of Googlers will choose the best one to display on Google’s homepage at a later date.

The contest has been running for the past eight years and Google offers a sweet prize package for the winner and four other finalists that includes a scholarship, a Chromebook, an Android tablet, and a trip to the Googleplex. The winner’s school also gets a $50,000 Google for Education grant.

“What makes me…me” was the theme of this year’s contest and students from K-12 were allowed to use different mediums and materials, instead of just a 2D drawing. A quarter of the finalists ended up using materials like clay, wood, origami, and photographs in their doodles.

At a later date, Google will post the 53 state and territory winners in a separate online gallery. Head to their website now to vote and join in on the fun.
