Android Wear 2.0 coming soon to the Polar M600 alongside new indoor swimming metrics

When Google unveiled the final build of Android Wear 2.0, the Mountain View company also confirmed which of the many smartwatches currently on the market would be receiving the update. One of these watches is the Polar M600. Now, Polar has announced the addition of indoor swimming metrics for this fitness-focused smartwatch with the coming update…

In addition to the many updates that come with Android Wear 2.0 like the Google Assistant, the Google Play Store, a revamped user interface, and more, Polar is including new indoor swimming metrics. These will include the ability to track the distance and pace of your swim, your strokes per minute, and how many strokes you were able to take within the length of the pool. Even more amazingly, the M600 will also be able to determine which type of stroke you were performing while swimming in an indoor pool.

Polar is known for its fitness accessories and trackers, and the M600 is no exception as it was built to be a dedicated fitness wearable first and foremost. The smartwatch features a 1.3-inch display, 4GB of storage, and supposedly up to 48 hours of battery life. What makes it great for exercise-related activities is its built-in heart rate sensor and GPS.

If you’re interested in picking up a Polar M600 for yourself, the Android Wear-powered fitness smartwatch is available for purchase in Charcoal Black and Powder White for $329.95.
