New LG G6 teasers effectively confirm its water and dust resistance [Video]

LG’s forthcoming G6 flagship isn’t much of a secret anymore, and it seems the Korean firm wants to make sure that there’s absolutely nothing we don’t know about it when it launches at MWC next week. Now, LG has come out with a couple short and sweet teaser videos making it clear that the phone will feature water and dust resistance.

The first video, simply entitled “Pool”, features a person — fittingly — swimming through a pool. The latter, titled “Flour”… is literally just a table of flour. But what clues us in that these are hinting at G6 features (besides it just being obvious) is an LG G6 outline that fills in the frame at the end of each one. Not the mention the video descriptions, which are pretty blatant:

“Taking a day off at the pool? Just relax and enjoy LG G6,” the pool video’s description says. Or in the case of the flour video: “Stay apart from the particles. LG G6.”

While it seems clear that the phones will have water and dust resistance, these teasers still don’t exactly confirm any kind of IP rating — so that’s still to be learned.

LG has itself confirmed a lot about the LG G6. Among other things, the company has told us about its ‘FullVision’ 18:9 5.7-inch displayoffered a peek at the new LG UX 6.0 software, and send out a few teasers to various media outlets suggesting that it will feature ‘resistance’ and ‘reliability’. LG has also itself confirmed that the phone will have a 32-bit Quad-DAC like the LG V20.

But beyond LG’s part, we know pretty much everything about the LG G6. It’s said to be the first phone outside of Google’s realm to feature the Google Assistant, and we corroborated some previously leaked specs alongside some new images of the phone last last week. It’s going to ship with base 32GB of expandable storage, a 3,200 mAh battery (some have told us 3,300, so we’re not sure what’s happening there), 4GB of RAM, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, and a 5.7-inch display.
