The Galaxy Fit 3 still hasn’t been announced, and more leaks are creeping out of the woodwork. The newest batch includes full specs on the device, including the supposed 13-day battery.
The Galaxy Fit 3 is all but a secret, with almost every detail already having been uncovered in the last few weeks. We know that the Fit 3 carries SOS and fall detection, which is fantastic to see in a wearable running a proprietary OS. We also know that the Galaxy Fit 3 will be around $100 if previous leaks end up being accurate.
One interesting takeaway from these leaks is the fact that Samsung plans on advertising a 13-day battery life for the device, something that wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibilities for a watch running simplified software.
The latest leak indicates that Samsung is expecting 13 days out of a 208mAh battery. This information is gleaned from apparent marketing and training materials for the device prior to launch (via TheTechOutlook). With that, the spec sheet also looks to show that the Galaxy Fit 3 will house 16MB of RAM and 256MB of internal storage.
Those two details tell us a lot about the Fit 3 or, at least, the software it plans on running. With that little amount of RAM, it’s likely the proprietary software is rather basic in nature, offering up only so much. It also means that 208mAh is plenty to power the device’s tracking and more for 13 days.
The device itself will be bigger than the Fit 2, at 42.9 x 28.8 x 9.9 millimeters. The AMOLED display comes in at 1.6 inches, which will likely look pretty good on the wrist.
Beyond Galaxy Fit 3 specs, the marketing materials leaked also show off a competent fitness tracker that takes a lot of cues from the company’s Watch lineup. That includes notifications with quick responses, access to backups with a Samsung account, and even camera controls for your Galaxy phone. Samsung is also advertising 101 different workout types that can be tracked. Six of those are automatically tracked.
Again, it looks like the Galaxy Fit 3 could be coming out sometime soon. Training materials and full marketing spreads generally indicate that. Of course, we thought the same when units were seen at stores a couple of weeks ago. That said, it really shouldn’t be long until Samsung announces the fitness tracker.
