Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is free at Verizon, its true purpose in life

The Galaxy S24 FE is a confusing value on paper, but there’s an obvious reason for its existence – freebies and promotions. Currently, Galaxy S24 FE is free for Verizon customers.

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE is a decent phone on the whole. Big, 6.7-inch display. A long-lasting battery. The latest One UI experience and 7 years of Android updates. It’s got the bones of a good device, but its $649 price tag makes for a slightly confusing value, as it’s pretty easy to get Samsung’s much-better Galaxy S24+ for around that same price.

But promos like the one currently going on at Verizon are exactly why this device exists.

Verizon is currently handing out the Galaxy S24 FE for free to its customers, new or existing. You don’t need to do a trade-in, or even have one of Verizon’s top-end plans. The only big catch is that you’ll need to open a new line. The free promotion doesn’t apply to existing customers looking for an upgrade, at least not right now. The device usually costs around $18 a month, with Verizon providing a monthly bill credit to cover the cost of the device.

There are no strings attached with this one either. No trade-in, no top-end plan requirements. Anyone on Verizon’s Unlimited plans can pick up Samsung’s new phone for free, getting a monthly bill credit to cover the cost of the phone.

When you buy the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE device. Unlimited Welcome, Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plans required. Promo credit may change based on other Unlimited plans. May not be combined with other offers.

New line req’d. Unlimited Welcome, Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plans required. Less $649.99 promo credit applied to account over 36 mos; promo credit ends if eligibility requirements are no longer met…

It’s extremely likely that the Galaxy S24 FE will continue to be used in carrier deals like this over the coming months, especially as the holidays approach. And, when it’s free, the FE’s value becomes way more obvious.
