Samsung has officially acknowledged the arrival of a new Galaxy device in a new teaser video, pointing to what is probably the Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Special Edition” announcement in just a few days.
There have been rumors of a “Special Edition” Galaxy Z Fold 6 coming out at some point this year. So far, we’ve seen leaked renders that show off a bigger camera bump in relation to a thinner body. The device is thought to bring a 200MP main camera sensor and will likely come in at a higher price point than the already expensive Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Samsung posted a teaser video for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition on its Korean site today. The video takes on a vintage aesthetic to imbue some sort of a sense of class. In an envelope is a Galaxy Fold model we haven’t seen in full yet, with the words “You’re Invited” strewn across.
Samsung is offering a date for this announcement – October 21. Other than that and a more expensive Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a still clearly visible crease, there isn’t much to glean from the video. There are no special colors or angles that show off how much thinner the phone is. It looks to take on the same aspect ratio as the original Galaxy Z Fold 6 with little to set it apart.
The device is expected to be a Chinese exclusive for the time being.
Until October 21, it is possible there will be little more to learn about the device other than what’s in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition teaser. Of course, that’s only 4 days from now.
